Privacy policy

This English version is a translation provided for convenience; the French version prevails.

This policy describes the personal data processed when you visit www.erudi.app, and how to exercise your rights.

Data controller

ERUDI SAS, a French simplified joint-stock company, Allée Guimet, 69250 Fleurieu-sur-Saône, France (SIREN 103 158 861). Contact: contact@erudi.app.

Browsing the website

The website uses no third-party analytics tool, no advertising and no social media plugin. The access logs of the service that delivers the website (Amazon CloudFront) are not enabled: Erudi keeps no log of your visits. The only counting is that of Erudi Desktop downloads, described below.

To display the pages, your browser contacts third-party services, which receive your IP address and technical information (browser, page visited):

  • Amazon Web Services, the host: the files of the website are stored in the AWS Paris region (eu-west-3) and delivered by the Amazon CloudFront network from its points of presence, located in Europe and North America;
  • GitHub, on the download page, to show the latest version of Erudi Desktop; the installers are downloaded from GitHub.

Legal basis: the legitimate interest of ERUDI SAS in presenting a working website (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). Erudi does not receive this data; GitHub processes it under its own privacy policy (GitHub).

Contact form

Data: name, email address, company (optional), reason for the request, message and date sent.

Purpose: answering your request and following up on our exchanges.

Legal basis: the legitimate interest of ERUDI SAS in answering the requests it receives (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR) or, if your request is about a project, steps taken at your request prior to entering into a contract (Article 6(1)(b)).

Recipients: the Erudi team. The form sends the data to a Google Apps Script, which records it in a Google Sheets spreadsheet of Erudi (Google). Messages sent directly to contact@erudi.app are processed the same way.

Retention: the data is kept for at most 3 years after our last exchange, then deleted.

Download counter

When you click a download link of Erudi Desktop, your browser sends to a Google Apps Script, which records them in a Google Sheets spreadsheet of Erudi (Google): the date and time, the build chosen, the operating system detected, the browser identifier (user agent), the screen resolution, the window size, the browser language and the time zone. No name, no email address.

Purpose: counting the downloads of Erudi Desktop per platform, to decide which builds to publish.

Legal basis: the legitimate interest of ERUDI SAS in knowing how its software is used (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Retention: the data is kept for at most 25 months, then deleted.

Cookies and local storage

  • erudi_lang cookie: remembers the language you chose (language selector or language banner), to display the website in that language. Value "en" or "fr", valid on erudi.app and www.erudi.app, kept 12 months. It is only set if you make that choice and serves no other purpose: needed for the service you ask for, it is exempt from consent.
  • Session storage (sessionStorage): the download page keeps the description of the latest Erudi Desktop version read from GitHub for 10 minutes at most, so as not to ask for it on every display. It is cleared when the tab is closed and holds no personal data.

The website sets no other cookie and uses no other storage in your browser.

Transfers outside the European Union

Google LLC and GitHub, Inc. are established in the United States: the data they receive (above) may be transferred there. The files of the website are stored in the European Union, but Amazon Web Services may serve a page from a CloudFront point of presence outside the Union, notably in North America. Amazon Web Services, Inc., Google LLC and GitHub, Inc. participate in the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, which the European Commission has found adequate.

Your rights

You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, to object, to restriction of processing and to data portability. To exercise them, write to contact@erudi.app. We answer within one month.

You may also lodge a complaint with the CNIL, the French data protection authority (www.cnil.fr).
